But if you need a real doctor, a specialist ... rates arrive quietly at 200-300 dollars. And if you break a leg? and if someone punches you in the appendix or cuts? Risk of having to sell the house or into debt to make life who loves you (Which you then maybe it will take less!)
and then 'test adequate health insurance, with a high coverage specifically for the USA. There are many: the famous and less famous. I spent at least a week trying different solutions. Famous ones and have high cost or insufficient funds (€ 250,000 of coverage for the U.S. are inadequate ... a trivial appendicitis may cost more '.
the end I found a whole series of economic insurance coverage with excellent: English German.

overall a pain bureaucratic, but in the end quite clear and efficient. So my experience with viaggiaresicuri.com (limited to what 'and I' happened) can not 'be positive
